Barona Resort and Casino is an Indian casino on the Barona Indian Reservation located in Lakeside, in San Diego County in California. It is owned and operated by the Barona Group of Capitan Grande Band of Mission Indians.[2]
There are no casinos (not located on Indian reservations) in the state of California where an 18 year old can legally gamble. Here is an excerpt from California Gambling Laws and Regulations. Source: California Gambling Laws 5.7K views. Gambling in Las Vegas is subject to a strict minimum age requirement of 21 years old; nowhere in the city is an 18 year old permitted to gamble. In fact, casino staff will typically prevent anyone under the age of 21 from standing or sitting down within their gaming areas. The legal gambling age is 18-years-old on all land under California jurisdiction. Because Indian casinos technically operate on reservation land, they aren’t beholden to California legislation. They can set their own legal gambling age to some extent (with some government oversight). The legal gambling age in California is 18-years-old, but Indian casinos may set their own age limits. Morongo is one of the few Indian casinos that stick with state law. Most other Indian casinos set their age limits to 21-years-old to prevent underage drinking on their premises. What sports betting options does Morongo Casino offer? There are many indian casinos is San Diego that you only have to be 18 to gamble in. Sycjuan and Barrona are two casino you can go to, you only have to be 18 years old. They offer slots, blackjack, bingo, and poker. They also have a great spa and buffet, as well as a nice golf course at Barrona.
Casino[edit]
Barona offers guests over 75 table games including blackjack, poker, Pai gow poker, Mississippi Stud, California-style craps (using playing cards to determine the outcome of a roll rather than only dice, as dice-only games are not allowed in California tribal casinos), roulette and over 2,500 slot and video poker machines. Barona is located between Lakeside and Ramona, 30 miles northeast of downtown San Diego.
The legal gambling age at Barona Casino is 18.[3] While the legal age for gambling in California is also 18, many tribal casinos in California set an age limit of 21 in order to comply with their alcohol license.[4]
Unlike most casinos, Barona does not offer alcoholic beverages on the casino floor. It does offer alcoholic beverages in the Barona Oaks Steakhouse, Italian Cucina, and the plaza restaurant. According to leaders of Barona Casino, the winding and hilly nature of Wildcat Canyon Road, which serves as the main access route into Barona Indian Reservation, is a primary factor that led to this decision.[5]
